Refugee Tales: Shepherdswell to Canterbury

Spent a wonderful day, along with the fantastic Simpson family, in solidarity with refugees and detainees, as part of Refugee Tales. Today was the second day ofnine, from Shepherdswell to Canterbury, 10.5 miles, following the North Downs way. Katherine, aged 7, walked pretty much the whole way!

We met some lovely people and heard some compelling life stories. Did you know that Britain is the only country in Europe to hold detainees indefinitely? Whatever did happen to ‘innocent until proven guilty’ in this country?! I’m doing another leg tomorrow from Canterbury to Chilham. Really looking forward to it.  It’s life changing stuff!
